Women's and Gender Studies has been a part of the University of South Florida since 1972 where it has been educating in an interdisciplinary field of study that critically examines historical, cultural, racial, class, and other differences. The USF Department of Women's & Gender Studies (WGS) has a long history of producing excellent undergraduate majors and minors. WGS offers a B.A., a minor in Women's Studies, and a concentration in Women of Color Studies. The department focuses on critical thinking, collaborative learning, and personal empowerment. USF's Women's and Gender Studies Undergraduate Program prepares students with a Bachelor of Arts to go on to graduate school, medical school, law school, or choose to enter the workforce in a wide variety of public, private, governmental, and non-profit agencies.
