Youth Education Services Internship Description
Two internships available per semester (Fall/Spring/Summer)
The intern will be working with youth in the community to prevent HIV and other STIs. The intern will have an opportunity to work with peer educators on various topics related to sexual health. Students WILL be certified to conduct HIV counseling and testing as part of the internship. Other tasks include: lesson plan development, data collection, development of health promotion materials, attending community planning meetings, and working in collaboration with other organizations.
Interns should be self-motivated and confident in working with youth 13-24 years of age. Interns must be at least 18 years of age; must have reliable transportation to get to and from internship; must demonstrate qualities of reliability, dependability, responsibility, and the ability to maintain confidentiality. Good communcation and computer skills are preferred. Intern must have reliable transportation and be willing to travel to the All Children's Hospital in St. Petersburg.
