Who Am I? My first answer to this question is I don’t know. Just joking! I am Lindsay Firster. I relocated to Florida after doing my undergrad in history at Tusculum College in Greeneville, Tennessee. I am a mom to an animated 5-year-old girl. I am outspoken and a lifetime learner who usually does things the hard way. I did some work with local domestic violence centers in Greeneville to help bring their resources to college campuses. I have studied the misrepresentation of disability in U.S. history and examined changing perceptions of masculinity. Alvin Toffler once wrote, "Our moral responsibility is not to stop the future, but to shape it... to channel our destiny in humane directions and to try to ease the trauma of transition." I truly believe that. As a member of the WGS department here at USF, I'm eager to continue to pursuing my dreams for social justice and equality in the academy and shape the future for children like my daughter.
