Recently orphaned. The eldest of five daughters and two brothers. Native of Oklahoma; Oregonian at heart; transplanted to the eastern seaboard for professional reasons. Partnered with a trangender Cajun from Lafayette, Louisiana who finds my discomfort with humidity amusing. Shaped by poverty and a passion for reading and school which provided fantastic escapes into freedom as a child. Fully embracing of queer, intellectual nerdiness.

Research Interests feminist, queer, and cultural theory; histories of feminism, women’s movements, and feminist consciousness in the U.S.; popular culture and media activism; sexuality studies; women of color feminism; pedagogy emphasizing social justice, trans-awareness, gender decolonization and globalization. Current research and writing projects combine concerns with pedagogy, cultural production, auto-ethnographic/personal narrative writing, and historiographic research on feminist and queer productions of knowledge.
